Everything You Want to Know Before You Reach Out

Reaching out to a therapist for the first time can feel vulnerable, especially when you don't know what to expect. These are the questions I hear most often, answered as honestly as I can. If something isn't covered here, just ask.

If you don’t see your question listed or are ready to schedule a free consult, contact me.

  • Individual sessions are $220 for 50 minutes. If you have a PPO, you may qualify for reimbursement from your insurance company. I use Thrizer to submit superbills on your behalf. • Currently I accept Optum, United Health Care, Aetna, UMR, Oxford Health Plans, Oscar, UHC student Resources, All Savers UHC, and Harvard Pilgrim.

  • Thrizer is a platform that handles out-of-network insurance reimbursement on your behalf. Instead of paying my full fee and waiting to be reimbursed, you only pay your co-insurance amount upfront and Thrizer takes care of the rest. It's one less thing to worry about.

  • Yes, I offer a free 20-minute consultation over the phone. I’m a firm believer in finding the right fit between client and therapist. The free consultation is your chance to ask the important questions to gain confidence before working with me. Schedule the free consult here.

  • Relaxed but productive. Once you’re prepped for EMDR and IFS therapy, our sessions start with you choosing the direction of the conversation. EMDR helps you feel less triggered and traumatized by your past. IFS helps you understand all of your inner parts of yourself (think the movie Inside Out), which helps daughters of narcissists get to know themselves by looking within instead of constantly monitoring others.

  • People typically stay in therapy with me for 2-4 years. Although, there is no timeline for healing. We go at your pace.

  • There are many reasons why previous attempts at therapy didn’t work out. EMDR and IFS blend together beautifully to create healing on a deep level talk therapy can’t compete with. Most people who are motivated to heal find these therapies effective.

  • The research says yes! I’ve been practicing EMDR therapy online for 5 years. I can also attest as a former client of online EMDR therapy it is effective. As long as you’re in a comfortable environment with limited distractions, it’s usually successful.

  • I have a 48 hour cancellation policy. Reschedules are preferred and encouraged. Too long of a break between sessions can slow down progress.
